Our Adoption Journey

Hello Everyone! We are Bart and Aly Hancock, and welcome to our Journey!
We met in August of 2011, and ever since our first day seeing each other we haven't spent time any time apart. We were supposed to go out on a Friday, but ended up spending the entire week before hand together.
It was true love, and we were married a few months later in March of 2012 in the LDS Bountiful Temple. We were sealed to each other for all eternity, and we are so excited to have that opportunity!

A short while after we were married, we decided to start our family. We continued in faith, knowing that our Heavenly Father knew what was best for us. But as things continued to not happen, we decided to look a little deeper.  In October of 2012, we finally realized that having a family of our own was probably impossible. This is when our adoption journey began.
We began to go through LDS Services, starting the process, unfortunately a month into our journey, they had to close their doors to adoptions. We were heart broken. We started to feel that our dream of having a family, probably wouldn't happen for a very long time.

We decided to wait for a little bit before pursuing our dream again. And looked into probably a dozen different adoption agencies. Again, all of the fees were so so high.  We just couldn't figure out how we could afford it. We knew that we had to start saving. But like most young couples, saving money is hard when you are both going to school. Although we tried to keep saving, we knew we would never have enough for an adoption agency. Almost every place we looked started at $25,000! It was unbelievable.

This is when we decided to start looking into other options. Private adoption looked like the best option to go. Trying to get our names out there is probably one of the hardest things that we have ever tried to do.

Word of mouth is what we are trying to do.

We are continuing our Journey and are waiting for the miracle of a child to come into our lives. We ask for your help. Keep us in mind, as people come into your lives. Some of those people might be looking for a miracle of their own for a child they are hoping to have a better life.

To be continued....
